Crackle… crackle… crackle oh no. The seizure was coming but I think I could hold it back for a little bit, if my dad was going to kill me I wanted him to look me in the eye and tell me. I didn’t want my life to end during a seizure.
“Shawn I think I’m going to kill you.” said dad after a long while. There were millions of ways to escape going through my head, but I knew none of them would work because I couldn’t move the slightest hair on my head. It was all happening, so quickly. My brain was racing thousands of miles per hour. My dad just sat there beside me like nothing was wrong with what he said. How could he think that that is his choice?
Then I started thinking, thinking, of everything that has ever happened to me ever. Then I was screaming in my head “NO dad! NO I don’t want to die.” Then I did something I hadn’t done in years. I prayed. I prayed that something would happen so I wouldn’t have to die. At least not tonight. “Please God,” I prayed. “Please!’ and my dad started reaching for my face with the pillow.
Then it happened. Paul came bursting through the door and caught my dad’s hands just as the pillow was inches from my face. Paul yanked the pillow form his hands. “Why dad?!” he shouted.
“He doesn’t need to live through this suffering!” my dad replied in a shout.
“What makes you think he’s suffering look in his eyes can’t you see the fear!” He shouted again.
“The only fear here is that he might have to go through pain again!”
“You’re the only fear here!” Paul said with an evil smile going cross his face then punched my dad so hard that he was knocked out Paul looked at me smiled and said, “you’re safe now.” And by the look on his face I knew I was.
Crackle…crackle. The last glimpse I had was my mother and Cindy rushing in the room, Then I was out of my body and into my seizure and I knew when I woke up things would be better, thanks to Paul.
